My name is Rochel Shafer. My husband and I have been married for a few years now, and have yet to be blessed with children. Recently my husband Yosef started to not feel well, and the doctors found something unexpected: His left kidney had failed. We immediately scheduled the surgery to remove it as soon as possible - the first date available that is covered by our insurance is after Shavuos. We don’t have much money at all - my husband works very hard as a maintenance man in a boys’ school - so even though he’s in pain we were waiting it out until his surgery date.
Last week, everything came crashing down - Yosef was in a bike accident, and of all of the things that could have happened his right kidney was injured. This means that he currently has no functioning kidneys. He will not live if we put the surgery off until after Shavuos. The surgery, which would need to be paid for in full in order to receive it early, costs between 76-84,000 shekel ($21,350-$23,600). This is much, much more money than we could dream of coming up with in the next few days.
PLEASE, If you are reading this, this is a matter of life and death, and I am begging you to save my dear husband. If we wait even a few days he may chas v’shalom need to be on dialysis for the rest of his life.
If you help us you should be blessed with health and parnassah for your own family, and safety on the road. And please, please pray for Yosef ben Devorah
